Just a reminder that our new session of Of Orono Youth Martial Arts, karate for children in grades K-5 begins today. Younger kids (grades K-2) meet at 3:30 and our older students (grades 3-5) meet at 4:30 this afternoon. As always classes are held in the Keith Anderson Community House, 19 Bennoch Rd, Orono, Maine. Even if you have not yet signed your child up through the Orono Parks and Recreation registration site they are welcome to work out with us today. If you didn't plan on today's session, but would like your child to participate, register on-line and your child can start classes next Wednesday.
Our Teen and Adult sessions scheduled for Monday evenings are open, as well. We'd like to start training next Monday night, but we need a minimum number of enrollments to secure the space. Please enroll on the Orono Parks and Recreation website as soon as possible. The site is a bit confusing. You have to register for the Adult Session of Orono Youth Martial Arts. It makes no sense, but we don't control registration. Please don't let the Youth designation discourage you; there's nothing simplified about our adult programming.
Finally, we have been asked to facilitate two single-session Women's Self Defense seminars, one in April and one in May. These are offered through Orono-Hampden Adult Education - not Parks and Recreation. Registration is through the Adult Ed portal and not the Parks and Rec portal. Links are included here and on our Friends and Links page.
I'm excited to get going, to see our returning students and to meet our new students. Ossu!
